The day-one patched version of #007Firstlight is 50.84 GB. The unpatched version was 45.69 GB. What does this mean? That the entire game was actually on the disc, but @IOInteractive intentionally locked it. They're not the first to use this kind of practice, which distorts physical versions. Why? To avoid spoilers? Don't make me laugh: All PS Studios games, like Uncharted, The Last of Us, and God of War, were complete on the discs, and their storylines were just as important! Some say it's because the game went gold only a few days before release: false argument, because this isn't new! Developers fix and optimize their games at the end of development; they don't finish levels! And besides, as you know, patches continue long after a game's release. Often for years! This practice of locking games is simply an insult to all lovers of physical media. What we want are physical works that make their mark on video game history, time capsules. Not empty shells! Physical game enthusiasts are patient people. Since we keep hearing that "physical games don't mean much anymore," why not postpone the release of boxed games and offer REAL PHYSICAL GAMES? Have we been lied to, and are publishers simply determined not to miss out on sales at launch? Gentlemen of the entertainment industry: be consistent!
