《決勝時刻》舅舅@TheGhostOfHope最近發推，稱消息人士爆料下一代Xbox主機的延期打亂了多個《決勝時刻》遊戲的營銷計劃。原計劃是讓《決勝時刻：現代戰爭4》（據說會做出一些頗具爭議的改動）作為次世代Xbox主機首發遊戲，吸引大量關注，與《GTA6》爭奪玩家的注意力。

EXCLUSIVE: Sources indicate to me that the delay on the next Xbox has "hurt" a lot of CODs marketing plans as they wanted Modern Warfare 4 to be a launch title and draw a lot of hype to compete with peoples attention alongside GTA VI. Because of this delay, the idea of two Call Of Duty games launching with the next Xbox has been floated. A traditional Call of Duty multiplayer and a standalone Zombies title presumably developed by Treyarch. Likely similar to that of Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered where both released together. Microsoft want Activision to be more agile and less attached to annualized releases in the future. The consensus is that a more quick and coherent product/development pipeline would have allowed them to cash in on the extraction shooter hype sooner with a DMZ update for example.

然而，@TheGhostOfHope這名舅舅的爆料顯得過於唐突和莫名其妙，因為從未有報道指出Xbox主機延期的消息，倒是頻頻傳出PS6主機延期到2028年甚至2029年，而且微軟官方也從未明確指出次世代Xbox的發售時間點。而且，這名舅舅也沒有說他的消息來源，所以不排除造謠的可能性。
What delay? No one’s announced a next Xbox date yet. Most leaks say 2027 anyway. Feels like building drama on an assumption. If MW4 was planned as a launch title, cool rumor, but this feels early.
I don’t understand MW4 being a launch title. Even before all these shakeups in Xbox leadership and SSD/RAM shortages there was no way we were getting new Xbox’s in 2026
Call of Duty has to get back on track first before trying to "hype" up people and compete. Nothing will compete with GTA 6 and MW4 wouldn't even be a consideration. Players have COD fatigue and they want to drop another MW. People are tired. SHG 2027 is COD only starting path
