圖中可以看到，里昂的頸部出現了明顯的黑色疤痕，感染跡象十分嚴重，有玩家猜測認為這或許是他首次佩戴全套手套的原因。

這一發現迅速在玩家社區中引發熱議。不少玩家猜測，考慮到里昂傷勢的嚴重，《惡靈古堡9》之後可能會告別這個角色。也有玩家表示，女主角格蕾絲或許會在關鍵劇情中拯救里昂，預告中女主角格蕾絲甚至拿起武器。還有玩家認為，只有麗貝卡能拯救里昂，不過，該角色是否登場目前還尚未得知。

I understand where you are coming from, but I think that it really is Grace. She will not only help him health-wise with his infection, I think she will also save him in general. In one scene, she even has his weapon in her hand
